The HYY Group’s interest groups

 
Although the Group’s companies work in many different business areas and their interest groups can vary greatly, they do have one factor in common: their owner – the Student Union of the University of Helsinki and its members.

Students are therefore the Group’s most important interest group. As members of the Student Union, they are the owners of the Group and as users of Group company services, they are also its customers.

Students also participate directly in the Group’s decision-making as members of Group company Boards of Directors. The central and diverse role students play places continual challenges on creating a working platform for mutual dialogue.

The Group is a corporate group in the service sector. Service is a product that people provide for other people. The Group’s second most important interest group is therefore its own personnel.

Group company customer bases vary between business areas. In addition to students, our companies also serve companies leasing commercial properties, hostel guests, and those holding conferences, events and celebrations. Our shared goal is to maintain an open discussion of our services and their quality, and our customers’ needs and expectations, that is satisfactory to all parties.

The Group’s companies choose responsible and environmentally-friendly suppliers and partners in co-operation.

Our companies also work closely with several authorities, the City of Helsinki, the university, the media and investors. We also seek open discussion and contact with these interest groups.
