Without Lyyra you're only half a student!

The HYY Group’s Internet media business comprises Oy Suomen Lyyra Ab.

Lyyra is an extensive service package that centres on the Internet service for members. It is aimed at students and personnel at all universities and institutions of higher education, and all users receive a Lyyra card that also functions as an SYL student card.

Lyyra’s main goal is to increase the benefits available to students. In addition to the benefits provided by the old student card, Lyyra can also be used to pay for campus area services, such as in student restaurants and cafés.  Lyyra may also act as an entrance permit to certain premises, and as a payment method for photocopying and other automated services. The Internet service provides Lyyra’s account services and, in the future, will also function as an extensive free-time service centre for students.

In 2010, net sales of Suomen Lyyra amounted to EUR 0.2 million and profit before extraordinary items to EUR -0.4 million. The company employed an average of 6 people. The HYY Group owns a 60% holding in Suomen Lyyra and the National Union of Students in Finland (SYL) 40%.
